Wizz Air – Fleet
Wizz Air operates Airbus A320 family aircraft. They are medium range single-class planes. There is a single aisle running the entire length of the cabin with seats located on either side.
The Airbus A320 was the first commercial airliner to use digital fly-by-wire flight control system. It was designed to replace the conventional manual flight controls of an aircraft with an electronic interface.
The first flight of A320 took place in 1987. One year later the airliner made its debut at Air France. After that, Airbus A320 entered commercial service with British Airways. The plane is a European answer to the American Boeing 737.
In 2006, Wizz Air took delivery of the first 30 Airbus A320 aircraft, ordering more in the following years. In 2014 Wizz Air carried almost 16 million passengers.
